How can I circumvent the online job application process?It seems as though I never get a response to online applications. Can't I apply for a job the old school way where you show up at the company and they give you the application? Our parents probably did it that way and they were able to establish a personal connection to the company.

Please, listen to me. It's a scam. It's too good to be true. I believed it too. If you email them, they say that you have to pay a fee to get started and whatnot, right? Well, they aren't lying, when you pay them, they basically send you a email telling you to do exactly what they are doing, making ads and doing that, it's a scam, don't listen to it trust me, I can give you the email after I paid them if you want.
Look at all the solicitations you got here……..That should tell you VOLUMES.

Not sure what would be right for you but my main advice would be to definitely stay away from any business that wants you to pay money to "work" for them from home. That generally spells scam.
Additionally, if you have a talent in some area (you play guitar or another instrument or are knowledgeable in computers) maybe you could teach or tutor people from your home. If you are a pack rat, you could join eBay and start selling your stuff to make a few extra bucks. Lastly, if you're a handy person, you could run small ads in the local paper to do odd jobs such as mowing, plowing/shoveling, minor household repairs, and anything that you think that you're qualified to do. There are a lot of elderly people that can't afford to hire professionals for small jobs and when they find a reasonably priced person that returns their calls and can assist them, they generally become repeat customers.
