Job seekers everywhere are trying to find new and innovative ways to improve their job search efforts. In an economy where unemployment is rising, companies are cutting back, fewer businesses than usual are starting up and downsizing is the norm, there are more people searching for work than there has been in quite a while. Families are tightening their belts and spending less, while trying to reduce debt they accumulated when the economy was good. More and more people who depend on commission are finding that their household income has dropped significantly. Many households that had a stay at home parent are now faced with that person needing to return to the workforce in order to make ends meet. For all these reasons and more, competition in the job market is fierce.

Resume distribution is one of those relatively new services that developed along with the rise in Internet use for finding jobs. Today’s job seekers use the Internet almost exclusively in their job search efforts. There are online job boards that are updated in real time with new jobs as they become available. Professional recruiting services all have web sites and do much of their work online. Individual company websites list job openings, as do online classifieds and many other sites. For the job seeker however, visiting all the possibly pertinent sites and posting your resume can be extremely time consuming.

That’s where resume distribution services come into play. In exchange for paying a small but reasonable fee, a resume distribution service will blast your resume to multiple sites at once. They will target hundreds and possibly even thousands of recruiting firms, corporations, hospitals, large businesses and other employers. This helps to save an incredible amount of time in your job search because you reach a huge number of possible employers at once. It is an especially useful option for anyone who is looking for any job that comes along and fast. The downside is that you have no say in where your resume is sent and it may or may not end up helping you get a job.

To overcome the problems associated with widely blasting a resume, targeted resume distribution services began. While basically the same as the regular resume distribution service, the targeted one gives you the option of selecting who will receive your resume. You can narrow down the recipients according to industry, salary level, position types and more. You even have the option of specifying the companies and recruiters you truly want to have your resume. While a much more effective way of finding a job you actually want, this service is more costly than the original resume distribution service.

If you are out of a job or simply looking for a new one, put technology to work for you. Select the type of resume distribution service that fits your needs and get started. In no time your job search will be wide open and you’ll be on the fast track to being amongst the newly employed.

Not everybody is looking for a nine to five job; sometimes a part-time job is a better choice. If you are in school or already have a full time job, a part time job can help you earn extra money and expand your skill set. Part time jobs offer flexible hours and cover a large variety of fields. Whatever your location, skills, or experience level there is a part-time job that will work for you. There are part time jobs in nursing, security, sales, driving, Information Technology, housekeeping and much more.

Finding a part time job is easy. There are many online sites that list an abundance of part time jobs, like gojobs.com. You can search for a job based on location, industry, skills or any criteria that suits your needs. Looking for a part time job for after your full time job? Then you can simply search for an evening or night job.

When conducting an online part time job search, it is a good idea to start by thinking about the specifics on your ideal part time job. If location is the most important criteria, then you can start your online searches by typing in your desired area. This can work well if you are looking for a part time job near your home, school or work. If the pay level or bonuses are most important to you, then you can search for words like bonus and commissions to help you locate a part time job that will help you earn the most money.

It can be as easy to apply for a part time job as it is to find a good position. With thousands of jobs to choose from, be sure to be ready with your resume or application information. That way after conducting a search online, you can quickly apply in order to be working in your new part time job as soon as possible. Most online part time job search sites will list the application requirements or link to the employer’s web site so you can quickly learn about the process. If you are prepared, you will be able to apply to many part time jobs quickly.

After you have defined your personal part time job criteria and prepared your application and resume information, the next step is to choose an online part time job search engine. Choose one, like gojobs.com, that allows you to search on any keyword. That way, you can type in the keywords from your criteria sheet and easily find jobs that will be a good fit for your needs. Good luck on your part time job search!

GO Jobs, Inc, founded in 1996, lists over 10,000 Part-time Jobs, representing more than 1,000 employers and recruiters. Go Jobs makes every Part time Jobs search a better experience.

Job hunting can be very stressful – indeed it can often suck! Preparation can minimize the stress and result in the job offer of your dreams. Landing the right job can make a world of difference in not only your financial situation but as well your overall happiness. Given the level of importance our jobs play in our lives a little preparation seems not only worth it – but crucial!

The 5 Key Stages to Job Hunting:

1. Landing the Interview:

This stage is about knowing what you want and how to go after it.

2. Preparing for the Interview:

This stage is about getting prepared to showcase your best work, to speak intelligently about who you are, and to ask the right questions so that you are able to assess the opportunity.

3. Performing during the Interview:

This stage is about being prepared to give the best impression, to establish a rapport with your interviewer, and knowing techniques to turn things around if need be.

4. Following through after the Interview:

This stage is about knowing optimal protocol to increase your chances of a call back or further consideration.

5. Getting the job:

This stage is about knowing how to optimize the negotiation once an offer is extended. And once the offer is finalized it is also about knowing how to optimize you first probationary 90 days.

Whilst the cost of designing and constructing a jobsite has fallen considerably in the past few years, making that site visible and attracting a high volume of quality candidates is getting tougher by the day. To reach the top 10 on Google for a key phrase such as Sales Jobs is a mammoth challenge and one which may take years to achieve.

There is however a new route to maximising quality traffic to the vacancies on a job board and that is the use of rss feeds and xml feeds, particularly when migrating the data to one of the many vertical job search engines, examples include, Job Rapido, Career Jet, Simply Hired and Jobster to name but a few. There are several benefits to having your vacancies on this type of site; one great benefit is that the jobseeker can easily find results on the major search engines for the specific vacancy that they are looking for with a link to the vertical job search engine and a further link directly to the vacancy URL on the respective jobsite. The secondary benefit is the number of additional links generated by all of the vacancies linking back to the jobsite. Many of these sites are still free of charge and for much lower cost that typical search engine pay per click schemes sites benefit from highly targeted traffic, this in turn gives a much better ROI.

Other means of distributing job vacancies and high quality targeted traffic that should be considered are Google Base and Feedburner, tests carried out using an XML feed and rss feeds have shown a rapid increase in traffic from blogs, forums, Yahoo and Google, all for a few minutes work and zero cost.

The conclusion has to be that if you are currently one of the hundreds of jobsite owners struggling to commercialise your site or you are rapidly running out of money through expensive PPC systems and online advertising, it would be advisable to investigate these alternative sources of website traffic and if you do not have the technical understanding or expertise to carry out this work yourself, speak to an SEO or Internet marketing expert.

To quote the Google Wemaster Guide “Quality guidelines

These quality guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here (e.g. tricking users by registering misspellings of well-known websites). It’s not safe to assume that just because a specific deceptive technique isn’t included on this page, Google approves of it. Webmasters who spend their energies upholding the spirit of the basic principles will provide a much better user experience and subsequently enjoy better ranking than those who spend their time looking for loopholes they can exploit.

If you believe that another site is abusing Google’s quality guidelines, please report that site. Google prefers developing scalable and automated solutions to problems,. The spam reports we receive are used to create scalable algorithms and block future spam attempts.

Quality guidelines – basic principles

Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines. Don’t deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as “cloaking.” Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you’d feel comfortable explaining what you’ve done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, “Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn’t exist?” Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links. Don’t use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages,. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold” that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google. Quality guidelines – specific guidelines

Avoid hidden text or hidden links. Don’t use cloaking or sneaky redirects. Don’t send automated queries to Google. Don’t load pages with irrelevant keywords. Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content. Don’t create pages with malicious behavior,. Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content. If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site. If you determine that your site doesn’t meet these guidelines, you can modify your site so that it does and then submit your site for reconsideration.”

There are still plenty of jobs in recession that do not require a degree. When times are tough and you need work, here are a few jobs that you can fall back on.

Maids and Housekeepers – Finding work as a housekeeper is best done in your local neighborhood through reputation or posting your credentials in libraries. There is a lot of manual labor but if you develop a relationship with the homeowner, you might get more referrals from their friends.

Lawn mowing – This type of work is done pretty quickly if you have a bunch of people who can separate the jobs. Get a worker for mowing, one for putting fertilizer and another for raking the grass. You might be able to finish a job in less than 30 minutes and move on to the next.

Taxi and Chauffeur – If you enjoy driving and are good with traffic routes, you can work as a chauffeur or taxi driver. The hours can be long and you might get some unruly customers, but once in a while you get a good tip for driving people to airports or farther destinations.

Security Guards - There is a bit of risk involved as a security guard but it usually only requires a background check and willingness to take on late hours. This is a difficult job to take on if you have a family or are responsible for other people with morning hours. It will also be initially hard to adjust to the sleeping times.

Fast food cook - There is guaranteed employment as fast food cook. The reason is the 300% turnover rate in this profession. Many people quit their fast food jobs for various reasons and you can take advantage of the opening. It does not take too long to learn the techniques and guidelines for how food is cooked and served.

This article is an introduction to recruitment for UK banking jobs. Getting a job in banking can be a drawn out process as recruitment cycles often take up to 6 months and the top banks may look at hundreds of candidates for a single post and go through 2 or more interviewing stages often in addition to a competency assessment. If you already work in banking or the finance sector you may be familiar with the recruitment process and if you’re looking for a change of career within banking this article will discuss briefly the best approach to successfully finding a new job.

Agency or direct

At the start of your journey to find a perfect banking job you will usually be faced with 2 routes (although you can take both simultaneously). Whether you should use a recruitment agency to source suitable opportunities for you or go direct to financial institutions with your applications.

Using an agency

Agencies are widely used in financial recruitment particularly for skilled banking jobs as the recruitment process is a labour intensive one often comprising of weeks of processing under qualified or inappropriate candidates before arriving at a list of high quality potential employees. The banking sector more than most appreciate the added value of dealing with an agency for some or all of their recruitment rather than managing their own extensive human resources based recruitment programme.

Recruitment agency consultants are driven to match the best candidates to the clients banking jobs, usually more so than the person to whom responsibility falls within the client institution- often the HR department or busy heads of department who may not have the required time to properly process high volumes of applications.

For the candidate, using a recruitment agency can also offer some distinct advantages over applying directly to individual companies in response to banking job vacancy advertisements. An agency will be working closely with the banks with a range of vacancies both current and upcoming available. If an advertised vacancy does not prove to be suitable your recruitment consultant will often be able to recommend an alternative position to apply for.

If you have the skills and experience that an agency is looking for they will actively seek out new opportunities for you as they become available, this can take much of the time consuming work out of applying for a new job in banking as agencies will only put candidates forward for positions they feel they are well suited for and capable of obtaining. Agencies can also deal with the initial contacting of the financial institutions and get interviews arranged on your behalf.

Going direct

Many applicants prefer to go direct to recruiters rather than going through a specialist recruitment agency as this allows them to make direct contact with the companies they are applying for and pick their applications based on job vacancies posted by the banking institutions.

The easiest way to find job vacancies if you want to apply straight to a recruiter are to search job listings on online job boards, newspapers and corporate websites. The downside of applying for jobs this way is the time it can take to find appropriate advertisements, approach the recruiter, submit applications and arrange interviews often based on limited information about the position you are applying for.

Choosing an agency

If you choose to use an agency to find you a new job in banking it is important to approach an agency who understand the unique and often specialist nature of the banking industry and have direct relationships with the banks themselves. Banks will often not deal with recruitment agencies whom they do not have a working relationship with due to their HR procedures. So make sure the agency representing you are talking to the banks or financial institutions directly and are on their preferred suppliers lists.

The main advantage of an agency is having an agent working on your behalf so make sure you get on with your agent and you feel comfortable with them representing you in front of potential employers- if an agent expects you to lie about your skills or experience on a CV its unlikely they’re working for your best interests.

Writing a CV

The CV is a critical part of successfully applying for banking jobs as its all an employer has to go on when deciding whether or not to invite you to interview. As the people up against you for banking jobs are going to have often very similar skills and experience due to the nature of the industry your CV has to not only be watertight in terms of the information it gets across but also make you stand out from a crowd of other financial experts. Banking is still a formal institution and you resume should reflect this, but some creativity will help to show your character and the effort you’ve put into your application- think about ways of presenting your CV with a unique personal touch, if you’re photogenic a picture of yourself is often a good start (don’t forget to smile!).

Again a recruitment agent should be able to help you get your CV up to a standard where they are confident it will be acceptable by the banks and financial institutions whom will be recruiting. There are lots of template CV’s and CV writing advice available online by searching for ‘banking job CV’.

The interview

Interview skills are a subject in their own right and beyond the scope of this article. There’s a lot of things to remember you should and shouldn’t be doing in an interview but most of these are common sense things about the way you want to present yourself. The best advice ultimately is make sure you do yourself justice, listen to the interviewers and think about the sort of things they want to hear from you. They want to find out about your personality and character as much as anything else so show you are a person they’d like to work with.

Again a Google search for ‘interview tips’ will give you plenty of helpful advice and a recruitment agent will also help to prep you before setting you up with interviews.

Good luck finding your dream job in banking.

Taking the time to learn some facts about the company will better prepare you for possible interview questions and will also impress the interviewer, letting them know your interest in working for their firm is serious.

<br />

An easy way to get information about a company is through the internet. Various websites specialize in providing information about companies to potential workers. Additionally, many companies have their own websites. Perusing the website of a prospective employer can provide valuable insight into the firm’s corporate culture as well as their history, and standing within their industry. Many companies also include a “careers” section which can provide you with enough information to formulate a few intelligent queries of your own to ask at the interview.

Another excellent source of information is the local library. Review recent periodicals to find listings for recent magazine or newspaper articles about the business. These can provide current information about the company such as recent changes in stock values, any recent layoffs or downsizing, or changes in the corporate structure that may be of interest.

Finally the most direct method of gaining information about is company is by visiting them and speaking with people who already work there. Most companies are not averse to providing potential employees with literature about their firm. It may also be possible to mingle among your potential co-workers to gain some insight directly from them. Of course take care not to ruffle feathers or venture into any secure areas without authorization. This should be a friendly fact finding mission not a covert operation.

Always be mindful of the source of the information you receive and whenever possible confirm the information you find with multiple sources. Following these guidelines will enable you to have a much more successful interview.

When computers first came into the mainstream of society in the mid 80s, accounting departments were among the very first to be computerized in most organizations. Indeed, there is a feeling amongst a considerable number of computing historians that the computer was mainly developed as an accounting aid – and that other applications for the computer came up as a by-the-way. And it is perhaps because of this that accountancy has always been among the first areas to get a hang of most developments in computers and computing. Most recently, for instance, accounting was the first area of business to push its operations online (where everything will eventually go) through SAP systems – and other departments are still trying to catch up. Accounting departments were also among the very first to embrace online recruitment – and there in fact a feeling in some quarters that the best place to get jobs in accounting – and other jobs in finance generally, is on the Internet.

Many companies post their accounting jobs onto online job notice boards based on the understanding that accountants are highly computer (and Internet) literate; and the chances of getting the right candidates for their jobs in finance are high if they post their jobs in accounting online are indeed very high.

A number of companies – especially those that run their accounting departments online through systems like SAP (and this are increasingly in the majority) also post their accountancy jobs online because they only want to attract web savvy candidates, who will be able to keep up with their online accounting systems.

And of course, there is also the fact that posting accountancy – and indeed any jobs – online is cheaper than most other alternatives to it – which mainly involve posting the vacancies on the print media.

In the face of all these factors, then, the chances of getting an accountancy job online are indeed very high – if you are qualified and care to look.

As you go look for accountancy jobs online, you certainly need to ensure that you are looking for them at the right forums. The internet is home to a number of fraudsters (who co-exist with a lot of good people there, though) and you should ensure that you are not among the minority who fall prey to these (few) fraudsters. As a general rule of the thumb, you should never have to pay anyone for them to employ you. To be sure, you might have to pay membership and subscription fees at various online job forums (though there are a number of good free ones too) – but these should be token fees to keep the service running – rather than huge fees in (supposed) exchange for jobs.

If there is a certain company you fancy working for, you should first visit its website and more specifically its ‘careers’ section and check whether it has any vacancies in that section, before you go looking at the various online job notice boards. In applying for jobs, you are advised to give priority to vacancies you find posted on the respective companies ‘careers’ sections – over those posted in the various online job notice boards.

This is not to say that there is anything wrong with these online job notice boards. Indeed there are many smaller companies – companies whose websites don’t get that many visitors – who prefer to post their vacancies exclusively on the online job vacancy boards where there is a chance of the vacancies being seen by qualified people – like you.

When youre writing your CV make sure that it is mistake free (mistakes diminish your chances of getting an interview), shows that you have strong communication skills and make sure that it reflects the vacancy that you are applying to.

You maybe new to the Internet but if you’re serious about making money online then there are plenty of online jobs available for you. With so many choices, it might just be difficult to pick on a suitable option.

Research opportunities

Most top companies who have a strong presence online always want to expand and diversify their business. Hence they look for innovative research on current market trends, customer preferences, buying behavior online etc. Many times they even pay top dollar for online jobs entailing comprehensive research on competitive analysis, SWOT analysis and other parameters. Thus research represents one of the best online jobs which are guaranteed to pay you good money in short time spans. Often you might just receive large chunks of payment for a single assignment. It’s because high quality research is always sought after. As a freelance researcher, if you have an Internet connection and access to journals and subscriptions, you can easily conclude strategic findings based on your research. This is one of the few online jobs which is in great demand and pays top dollar too!

Medical transcription

If you have a degree in Biotechnology or a related medical field and also possess good writing skills, then medical transcription can be a great profession for you. The way it works is that you will need to transcribe the dictation between doctors and their patients. This information is crucial and these kinds of online jobs require a great deal of expertise and accuracy. Even a small mistake can cost the company losses in millions. This is one reason medical transcription specialists need to have a thorough knowledge of the medical industry and might also need at least 1-2 years experience of internship at a hospital or health care facility. However, medical transcription is one of the online jobs which pays a great deal of money – which is why it is a sought after way to make quick money.

Flash design and animation

Graphic and flash designing is big these days. Everything from movies, to website pages to even small videos depends on Flash for improving attractiveness and interest. If you have specialized skills in design and animation, you can literally earn loads of money in a few months. You can avail a variety of project based online jobs which are looking for animation and design skills. You just need to mention your hourly or project based rates and start bidding online. As you win more projects you can gain more experience and command better rates as well. The reason these online jobs are gaining in prominence is because of the outsourcing wave. Most big companies do not want to spend big money on animation skills in-house. That’s why they look for independent service providers who charge less, are skilled and motivated.

I have made a fillable form in Adobe but its way to big for one, and second i don't want them to have to go through attaching the data to a email at the end, most of them are not computer savvy.I have also used flash form from coffeecup and the data is not in a suitable format when its emailed to me,ex.notepad. I would then have to retype it all in our job application and that defeats the purpose of an online application. I guess im looking for maybe a hosted company or a better way for me to host on my server. Any help would be great.

When it comes to getting the right people into gas jobs there are two viewpoints on the one process. These are the viewpoint of the job seeker and viewpoint of the employer. The gas job recruitment process of course begins with the job vacancy and description.

Specialist recruitment companies. All big companies in the petrochemical industry outsource a lot of the stages of the recruitment process to agencies that specialize in bringing gas job employers and job seekers together.

Describing the gas job vacancy. From the viewpoint of the gas job recruiters the target job is always very well defined. This is the vital first step because unless they are clear on what they are looking for they are unlikely to find it. Job seekers must realize that job descriptions are their starting point too and if they do not meet all criteria in the job description they will probably not get past the first catch stage.

Advertising the gas job vacancy. Petrochemical employers and their recruiters work together to ensure that vacancy notifications are seen first by serious job seekers in the specialist gas job media. More and more these days this means online at gas job recruitment websites. Many recruiters send out email newsletters to their job seeking client list. Job seekers need to be registered with the specialist recruiters to stand any chance at all of getting a gas job. From the job seeker point of view the cover letter that accompanies your CV is the place to point out your suitability for the target job.

The first catch, CV as the key document. Once the closing date for applications has passed, the task of the gas job recruiters is to whittle down the first catch of job seekers to a number that can be interviewed. In addition to this they will be verifying qualifications and references. For the job seeker the importance of an up to date, clear and easy to read CV and covering letter cannot be overstated. Many gas job recruitment websites and agencies will give free advice and guidance on developing an effective CV. The job seeker and the recruitment agency have a mutual interest in filling the gas job vacancy with the right person.

Short listing. For the gas job recruitment company the next stage of the recruitment process is the busiest and most specialized. It is the assessment and sifting down of large numbers of job seekers to the required short list. The aim is to only take forward those people who meet the strict criteria in the target job description.

This is the rejection phase for the majority of job seekers. If you fail to get to an interview there are three basic causes. Either your CV and covering letter did not make your case well enough, there were other more obviously qualified candidates or you do not meet the requirements of the target gas job.

Less candidates, more time and money. Recruitment is a costly business for the recruiting company and it is always back loaded in that the shorter the list of gas job seekers the more time and effort goes into selecting the final one(s).
